Why is psuedo name or "blog name" so popular in blogsphere? Is the sexy and mysterious appeal the common motive or are there deeper reasons? You want people to care only about your writing and not as a person...or are you afraid people will judge you in daily life based on your blog entries?
Are psuedonom bloggers afraid of the impression they create? Or you don't want any baggage from blogging to stalk you into your real life? Does that mean your real persona is different from you literary one? Do they want people to know about their life only through what they write and want no one to do any background check (read Google) on them?.
There is definitely some issue of credit in here. And it is ironic that the best creative blogs I know of are by "pen name" bloggers and the most shameful directly lifted one I read.the writer/s had no issue whatsoever in making their names public and infact publicise their blog with zest.

Bulls Eye !! quite an observation...
A good writer might just want to be judged for his skills... hence the secrecy...
Also, writing is an emotional exercise. You might not know when you get close and personal with your readers. Also, if people know too much about you, you might not be able to air your thoughts...might want to please them instead of being true to self...and here the whole point of writing and having a "personal" blog is defeated..
So it's always good to maintain some sort of secrecy...
Because when people read blogs written by someone they know, they tend to wonder how their writing is related to something that is happening in that person's life .. there is nothing better when you write something and get appreciated or get responses from someone who doesnt even know who you are.. that is the most unbiased critique of your writing and your thoughts
